Local County & Municipal Resolutions

Many of Kansas City’s commissioners and mayors have formally announced their active support for Food Day — the nationwide and local celebration and movement for healthy, affordable, and sustainable food.

Using a Food Day proclamation template provided by Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), the planning committee works each year with Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) to develop an introductory letter requesting the adoption of a revised proclamation. The letter and template is distributed by MARC to each County and Municipal government in the region. Now, proclamations have been adopted in numerous communities showing broad support for Food Day principles across the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.

In Missouri, proclamations have been adopted by Jackson County, Kansas City, North Kansas City, Parkville, BeltonSugar Creek, Grain Valley.

In Kansas, proclamations have been adopted by Johnson County, Leavenworth, Edwardsville, Shawnee, Mission, Bonner Springs, Overland Park, Kansas City, Roeland Park, and Merriam.

We thank you.
